At The Zoo

Ten students were visiting the zoo for the first time in their lives today!  Another 5 students had only been to the zoo once before.  No wonder we had a fabulous time checking out all the animals.
We watched the polar bears, cheetah, otters and penguins being fed.  We learned about the komodo dragon from the zookeeper and saw so many other animals!

A Great Trip To End The Year

We joined two other Grade 5 classes for a great trip to High Park yesterday.  It was our first rain-free trip all year!  The students had lots of fun on the giant castle play structure.  We had a picnic lunch and then we explored the small zoo.  Thank you to the wonderful parents who helped with supervising this trip and the other ones this year.  I couldn't do it without you.
Good bye and good luck to all the students.  Happy Summer everyone!
The students were fascinated to see and feel the fur on the reindeer's antlers.

The peacock showed us his beautiful feathers.

The emu was a new animal for many of the students.

The capybaras and one of their 3 babies were also new animals for the students learn about.
