Books and Animals

We had a beautiful, sunny day for our trip to the Children's Book Bank and Riverdale Farm.

The students all got to select a book to take home, free of charge, from the Book Bank! The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and the graphic novels were very popular with students.

We ate lunch outside the gates of Riverdale Farm in the sunshine and then we saw a variety of animals including goats, horses, sheep, turkeys, chickens and rabbits.

We even had a ride on a streetcar when we were travelling back to school!

Book Bank and Barns

On Tuesday we were lucky to have wonderful Fall weather for our trip to the Children's Book Bank and the Riverdale Farm.  The students heard stories and received a free book each at the Book Bank. We walked over to the park and ate lunch.  Then the students visited the animals at the farm.  Thank you to our terrific Mom volunteers for helping to supervise this trip.  We couldn't go without you.

Any child who visits the Children's Book Bank receives a free book.

After the hearing two stories read to us, we each chose a book to take home.

We ate lunch in the park and played tag games.

For several students this was their first time at a farm.

Touching the animals, smelling, and hearing the animals was a new experience for many of the students.
