Toys Designs For All Kids

In Media studies we have been looking at the way toys are marketed to specific genders.  In an effort to make all kids feel comfortable playing with any toy that they would like, we have designed gender neutral toys in gender neutral advertisements.
Students chose colours that they felt all children would like.

We discussed colour stereotypes and why they can be harmful.

They discovered designs that everyone enjoyed.

When they decided to use stereotypically gendered colours, they added both  "boy" colours and "girl" colours to their toy to make it gender neutral.

All the toys were equally enjoyed by the girls and the boys.

Baking toys that were stereotypically marketed to girls only, were changed to include more neutral designs and both boys and girls in the ad.
