Political Party Polls

We are learning about how the Federal and Provincial governments get elected.  Each student was part of a political party (chips, timbits, cookies) and they chose a party leader.  Every student made a poster to support their party.  They researched and brainstormed persuasive reasons why the voters should choose their party.

Last week we did advanced polls in the other Grade 5 classes and had a leaders' debate in our classroom.  The final election results were revealed on Friday after our secret ballot.

Congratulations to the Chip party that will form the government and the Timbits party that will form the official opposition.
