Getting Started

We have had a great start to grade 5!  We have been getting to know each other.  We have been playing many cooperative games in drama and gym.  We have worked in small groups to create and guess large numbers in math, and to identify different genres of books in language.  The students have earned prize tickets for being extra helpful or for remembering to follow the new routines without reminders.  We will continue with large numbers and linear measurement in math this month.  In science, we will be learning about the organ systems of the human body and in Social Studies we will be starting our unit on Canadian government.  Remember to return the trip forms for our hockey trip in October.  Let's have a great year!
